Congress leadership, in the presence of PPCC president, observes 2-minute silence to pay homage to SAD patriarch S. Parkash Singh Badal

Jalandhar, April 26, 2023: Ahead of the Jalandhar by-election, while addressing a public meeting during today’s election campaign in Gakhal village in Kapurthala constituency, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring paid homage to Akali Dal patriarch Sardar Parkash Singh Badal, by observing 2-minutes silence in the memory of old man of the Punjab politics.

Emphasizing on the age-old adage ‘One fish spoils the whole pond’, Warring said, politics in the country has not only degraded but has gone to a new low due to vested interest of some leaders. He said there was a time when despite differences in ideologies and opinions, leaders used to respect each other because the well-being of the people and prosperity of the country was their common goal, but now, politics have changed altogether. Now a days, the politicians don’t refrain from hitting below the belt to maintain their existence, said he.

Going down the memory lane, Warring said, I vividly recall, how, owing to opposite political affiliations and thoughts, my opinion never corresponded with the Badal family. Despite the fact that we both come from the same region and same constituency, in fact, S. Parkash Singh Badal contested his first election from Gidderbaha constituency, it was never a ‘Dirty Politics’. This is one of the reasons why, one of the tallest political stalwarts since independence, is being remembered today, after he is gone!

Coming down heavily on the ‘Apni Advertisement Party’, Warring said sensational disclosure about AAP’s supremo Arvind Kejriwal wasting tax payer’s hard earned Rs 45 crore on the ‘beautification’ of the official CM residence (Kejriwal’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’) during peak Covid, has exposed his anti-people face. He not only deceived Delhiites but deliberately let them die of Covid. The CM, let the people down, who voted him to power, on their own when they were gasping for breath, needed O2 concentrators and ventilators.

Taking a jibe at the Aam Aadmi Party Supremo, Warring said, “It was the same Kejriwal, who used to roam around coughing with a muffler around his neck, who is now splurging Crores for his lavish lifestyle. Is he a common man or a con man?”

While addressing the residents of Gakhal village, Warring said, it was sad to see that after more than four decades BSF and CRPF was again roaming on the Punjab soil due to the ‘misrule’ in the state under incompetent CM Bhagwant Mann’s leadership. The state has been pushed back to the dark days of militancy due AAP’s poor governance.

He urged the residents to extend complete support in favour of party candidate Prof. Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary and ensure her victory for the progress, prosperity and development of Jalandhar. He also asked the voters to stay alert from the imposters and not to get betrayed by them in the name of ‘Badlaav’ again with their lies, false guarantees and fake promises.

Those who were present during the public meeting included Congress candidate Prof Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary, Former MLA and Congress Committee Distt. Incharge S. Harpartap Singh Ajnala, Gurusharan Kaur Randhawa, President, Mahila Congress, Bhagwant Pal Sachar, Former Distt. President Amritsar (Rural) and other leaders from the area.
